Starling Sugar Cookies
Sometimes simple is the best answer. Here is a quick and easy recipe for a light
and pillowy cookie. An absolute buttery classic that is a delicious treat anytime of
year. Serve with a glass of cold milk or warm cup of hot chocolate. You’ll be glad
|1/2 cup butter, softened||1/2 tsp vanilla extract|
|1/2 cup vegetable oil||2¼ cup flour|
|1/2 cup sugar||1/2 tsp baking soda|
|1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar||1/2 tsp cream of tartar|
|1 egg||Optional: colored sugar crystals|
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl, cream the butter, oil and sugars together. Add in egg and vanilla until well blended.
In another bowl mix flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Slowly add this into the sugar mixture.
Stir until combined. Drop by small teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets. Dust with colored sugar crystals if desired.
Bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly brown. Cool on wire racks.
