The leadership team of Starling Physicians is comprised of exceptional individuals who set the strategic direction, oversee quality, efficiency, and profitability, and work closely with the Board of Directors.
Jarrod Post, MD, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Post joined Connecticut Multispecialty Group (CMG) in 1999. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Post led CMG as Chief Executive Officer from 2011 to 2015 and has served on the board of directors for Hartford Hospital. He is, or has, served as a board member for CMG, Hartford Hospital, Integrated Care Partners, National Physician Services, and the Connecticut branch of the National Kidney Foundation.
During the two years after the merger of Grove Hill Medical Centers and CMG, Dr. Post served as Chief Medical Officer and played an integral role in ensuring alignment between the company’s business goals and clinical capabilities, providing medical oversight and leadership to guarantee the delivery of the highest quality medical outcomes in the most cost efficient manner.
In February of 2018, Dr. Post assumed the role of Starling’s Chief Executive Officer where he will continue to take the organization forward and solidify Starling as the statewide partner of choice for patients, networks, hospitals, physicians, and healthcare clinicians. His goal is for Starling to be a beacon of independent practice, where the sense of pride and ownership for the care of patients is harnessed though a truly clinician owned model.
Chief Administrative Officer
Ms. King joined our organization in fall of 2015 and plays a pivotal role in establishing company-wide clinical goals and quality standards to increase the value delivered to patients and the payer community, and to enhance the provider experience. She has over 25 years of healthcare management experience and previously served as Executive Director of the Hartford Physician Hospital Organization and as Vice President of Clinical Integration for Integrated Care Partners at Hartford Healthcare. As CAO, she serves as a trusted advisor to the physician leaders in all critical business areas of Starling Physicians. Ms. King earned her bachelor’s degree at Princeton University and an MBA with a concentration in finance and health economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Michael Posner, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Posner is in practice as a general surgeon. He is a member of both the Starling and Grove Hill boards, and well as the lead of our Finance committee. Over the past two years, he has led the process of updating Starling’s overhead allocation policy and is a tireless advocate of Starling.
John Trusler, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
John began working at Grove Hill Medical Centers in November 2014 as their Chief Financial Officer. His primary responsibilities include the financial oversight of the organization, as well the overall physician compensation reporting system. Prior to joining Grove Hill, John worked in public accounting for 19 years, most recently at CohnReznick. During that time, John primarily serviced the accounting and tax needs of for-profit single and multispecialty physician practices.
Maryanna Polukhin, MD
Vice President of Primary Care
Dr. Polukhin practices as an internist in Newington. She is an innovative thinker who developed the Newington Integrative Medicine Center and is board certified in both internal and integrative medicine. She is a strong physician advocate and is a significant addition to the management team. She works with our internists to determine how Starling can provide optimal support for primary care. She currently is focused on optimizing our chronic care program, cultivating smart analytics for clinical practice, and developing stress reduction programs.
John Russomanno, MD
Vice President of Specialty Care
Dr. Russomanno practices pulmonary and critical care at Hartford Hospital and sees patients in Bloomfield, Farmington, and Wethersfield. Prior to Starling’s formation, he served as former president of the CMG branch and is a current Starling board member. His perspective and judgment are invaluable at this pivotal point for Starling as we enter a new era of growth and opportunity. In the short term, he will partnering with our specialty care providers to determine how Starling can best provide support for their different practice areas. He is currently helping in development with ambulatory surgery center options and improvement of referral patterns.
