Dr. Michael Posner is a surgeon at Starling Physicians. He attended medical school at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, New York, and went on to do his internship and residency at Tulane University Medical Center in the Department of Surgery. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He also completed his Master of Business degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Dr. Posner joined the former Grove Hill Medical Centers in 2005 where he built a thriving practice as a general surgeon. In 2016, Grove Hill merged with Connecticut Multispecialty Group and he continued his surgical career at the combined entity of Starling Physicians.

At Starling, his areas of clinical expertise include management of breast diseases, both breast cancer and benign diseases; minimally invasive abdominal surgery including cholecystectomy, colectomy, and all types of hernias; and other general and oncologic surgery including skin cancer/melanoma.  He sees patients in New Britain and Glastonbury and operates at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Hospital of Central Connecticut, and the Connecticut Surgery Center.
