Cancer Prevention in the Asian Community
July 3, 2019Starling Oncologist, Dr. Madhavi Gorusu, delivered an interesting presentation on cancer prevention in the Asian community. She highlights some of the nationwide declining cancer death rates which are in part due to changes in lifestyle and early prevention.
She then discusses how Asian Americans are faring in the fight against cancers. She shares some negative trends about increased rates of breast and colon cancer which can partially be attributed to cultural barriers and lack of screenings.
