We want to make you aware that some laboratory companies are now allowing consumers to order their own lab tests. Your Starling providers are concerned about this service because it has the potential to create confusion about the test results; your providers will not be involved in interpreting these tests. In addition, these tests are not covered by insurance and may result in unnecessary medical costs.
Your Starling providers will be happy to work with you to determine when lab tests are necessary and will order these tests, as needed. Your provider will also make sure you understand your results and implications.
