March Newsletter

Vaccine News

Thank you for your patience as we wait for the State of Connecticut to allocate vaccines to us. We hope to start in April but are dependent upon the state for our supply. We assure you that we will continue to provide updates about our vaccine status. In the meantime, we encourage all patients to get the vaccine as soon as they are eligible, in any convenient location.

Once we get approval, we will contact patients who have joined our Vaccine Wait List. Initially, we plan to administer vaccines at weekend clinics in New Britain and Wethersfield and then will expand. Click here if you would like to join our wait list. This is not a guarantee of an appointment.

For questions about the vaccine, please do not call your provider’s office. We now offer a vaccine hotline and regularly update our COVID website page. If you are on our list but no longer need a vaccine, please call our hotline and leave a message with your name and date of birth.

Roll Up Your Sleeve

We encourage all patients to get the COVID vaccine as soon as you are eligible, in a location that is convenient for you. Click here for a new video in which our providers discuss why getting the COVID vaccine is essential to protecting yourself, your loved ones, and the community.

Spring is coming…and so are spring allergies

Those with seasonal spring allergies will usually start to see symptoms in early March that can last through May. It’s important to start preparing for allergies now before pollen reaches peak spring allergy levels. This year it has been a bit more confusing because COVID symptoms sometimes mimic allergy symptoms.

Many patients with known postnasal drip and cough from the allergies have been afraid to be around others due to concern from others that the cough may be secondary to possible COVID.  Many of these patients have repeatedly gotten tested for COVID to rule out possible infection.

Therefore adequately controlling allergies is crucial this year to  help avoid some confusion and unnecessary need for Covid testing.

Dr. Jigisha Morosky, an allergist/immunologist with Starling Physicians, addresses the most common questions about seasonal allergies in this helpful article>
