Managing Memory Leak Errors on Allscripts


There are still some residual memory leaks in Allscripts Touchworks even after the last upgrade. These memory leaks can cause errors and slowness. One of the ways to mitigate the errors that can be caused by the memory leak is to log out of Allscripts and close the Internet Explorer browser halfway through the day and when you leave at night. This action clears any of the memory leak from the browser.

When you are accessing Allscripts locally from your desktop/laptop, you should log out of Allscripts Touchworks and close the browser. Closing the browser is accomplished by clicking the red X in the upper right hand corner of the browser window.  

When you are accessing Allscripts via Citrix from your desktop/laptop, the process is different. Attached are instructions from NPS on how to disconnect from the citrix server to help mitigate some of the memory leak errors.

Your manager has also received a communication to request that the staff handle the exam rooms during lunchtime and in the evening.
