Flu facts:

• The flu affects between 5 and 20 percent of the U.S. population each year.
• The typical flu season occurs from fall to early spring. 
• It is recommended that everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccine every season. 
• Flu vaccines cause antibodies to develop in the body about two weeks after vaccination.
