  • Biography

    Maria Theresa H. Santos, MD, was inspired to choose a career in medicine as she wanted to take care of people and to help them avoid diseases and get better. She chose Cardiovascular medicine as she was fascinated with the hemodynamics and inner workings of the heart and its impact to an individual’s optimal functioning.

    Dr. Santos believes in collaborative care. She thinks that when people understand what their risk is and what their diseases are, they, together with her help, can make their health and their lives better. “Trust and collaboration are most important to me during a visit with one of my patients,” she says.

    Dr. Santos enjoys interacting with people and being able to help them. “It’s rewarding to see patients improve and live healthier lives because of the care we provide,” she shares.

    Outside of work, Dr. Santos loves spendin time with her family and her 2 children. She enjoys cooking, baking and traveling. She believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance and cherishes the time she spends with her loved ones. Her travels allow her to experience new cultures and cuisines, enriching her life beyond her medical practice.
