Dr. Edward Fitzpatrick is an experienced retina specialist.  He completed his medical training in Buffalo, NY and went onto an Ophthalmology Residency at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. He completed a Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery Fellowship at the Cullen Eye Institute of Baylor University in Houston, Texas.  He specializes in the clinical diagnosis, evaluation, management, laser treatment, and all surgical techniques required in the care of vitreoretinal patients.

After his training, Dr. Fitzpatrick spent a year in Saudi Arabia at the King Khalid Special Eye Hospital, the largest eye hospital in the word.  He was involved in teaching medical students and residents.   He then spent the next four years on staff at Geisinger Medical Center.  Here he headed the Vitreoretinal Department and taught residents in the training program. 

Dr. Fitzpatrick joined the former Grove Hill Medical Centers in 1997 and is happy to now be part of Starling Physicians. He specializes in macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal occlusions and detachments, and any other diseases or conditions that affect the retina. When surgery is needed, he uses the most advanced treatment options and operates at New Britain General Hospital and The Hospital of Central Connecticut.
