Implementation Update on EHR

We are well on our way with our implementation plans for our GH Branch implementation of Allscripts and our CMG upgrade to V11 notes.  This is an exciting time for all as we move into the fall season.

I’ve put together a web based tutorial for Allscripts to give providers going onto Allscripts a preview of the functionality and ease of use.   Please click the following link to access:  https://www.starlingphysicians.com/july-13th-presentation-electronic-medical-records/

This is one of many webcasts that I plan on creating to keep you informed of the functionality of the various workflows in Allscripts. Please continue to check the portal regularly as we send out updates and new information. This portal will be the place where all this information will be stored for you.

Our timeline is as follows:

  • On time with our Hem Onc go-live this week 9/12/16
  • Will begin the workflow assessments for the IM departments during this fall starting in October.  The offices will be notified when to expect engagement.
  • Currently assessing feasibility of rolling out all IM departments at once vs. a phased approach in January-February and will provide updates as we solidify dates.
  • Ultimate goal is to have all departments up on Allscripts by 12/31/17 and all providers across Starling using the V11 note to enable us to upgrade to the latest version of Allscripts.

Additional key information:

  • Work is being done by our IT team to assess various options relating to chart conversion from SRS into Allscripts and multidisciplinary physician input will be obtained prior to any final decisions being made.
  • We are currently assessing our options for communicating key patient information between our providers during our transition phase from SRS to Allscripts while we function in two charts.
  • I will be holding “Keyboards and Coffee” sessions in October for an in-person, hands-on Allscripts demonstration and Q&A; we will communicate those dates to you shortly.

Please direct your questions to your GH Branch Physician Champions, Dr. Karen Haverly and Dr. Neil Wasserman and/or myself.
