Dr. Steven M. Horowitz, FACC received his BA degree from Brown University in 1973 and his MD degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City in 1977. He was an intern and resident in medicine and fellow in cardiology from 1977 –1982, all at Hartford Hospital. From 1982 –1994, he was in private solo cardiology practice at Hartford Hospital. From 1984 –2013 he was a partner in Cardiac Care Associates, PC, a six- person cardiology practice at Hartford Hospital. This group joined Connecticut Multispecialty Group in 2013. Dr. Horowitz retired from active practice in 2013, but through CMG, has continued to maintain a practice which involves evaluating nursing home patients for cardiac disease, reading hospital electrocardiograms, and performing cardiac disability examinations.
Dr. Horowitz remains involved in continuing medical education and has special interests in ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and cardiomyopathy. He believes in collaborative care, close patient/family involvement and understanding, and treating each individual with dignity and respect.
