Dr. Azimov is originally from Baku, Azerbaijan (part of the former Soviet Union). Before pursuing a career in medicine, he served two years in the Russian Army. He also was a competitive volleyball player. Prior to immigrating to the United States, he completed three years at Moscow Medical Academy in Moscow, Russia.
Once he settled in the United States, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and then went on to attend the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. Following medical school, Dr. Azimov completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. He is currently certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and has been serving as an oral examiner for the board since 2004.
As a board-certified physiatrist, Dr. Azimov specializes in minimally invasive spinal care and managing different kinds of pain. He has been serving the community of Western Massachusetts since 2005, providing musculoskeletal and spine care. He is well respected by his patients and colleagues.
Dr. Azimov, his wife, their three children, and their dog reside in Glastonbury, CT. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and he is especially passionate about traveling and learning about different cultures.
