  • Biography

    Dr. Madhavi Gorusu has been a Connecticut resident since 2000. She graduated from Andhra Medical College, NTR University of Health Sciences in 1998. After a one year of internship at Huron Hospital in Cleveland in 1999, she moved to CT. She completed her residency in internal medicine from University of Connecticut. This was followed by three years of fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Connecticut. In 2007 she accepted a job as an attending at Connecticut Multispecialty Group, now Starling Physicians, as a Hematologist and Oncologist.

    Dr.Gorusu is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Oncology. She serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at University of Connecticut and plays an active role in teaching residents and fellows. Dr. Gorusu guides student’s author good learning cases to be written and published. Her publications have been published for Lymphoma Myeloma Conference, ASCO abstracts, ASH abstracts, Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics.

    Dr. Gorusu enjoys giving educational talks to the public and on several occasions has been invited by the Connecticut Leukemia Lymphoma Society to educate the community on various hematologic malignancies.

    Dr. Gorusu lives in Avon, CT with her husband and two children. She takes immense pleasure and pride in being involved with her children’s education and activities. Both her kids have been students of Hartt School of Music. Dr. Gorusu’s time off is spent seeing her kids excel in education, art, and sports. Both her children play music for patients and families on a regular basis on the Oncology unit at Hartford Hospital and for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

    Dr. Gorusu is fluent in other languages including Telugu,Hindi. She has learned and continues to learn the traditional dance form of India, Kuchipudi since age 4. In addition to several hundreds of performances since childhood, one she cherishes most is when is performed along with her daughter in 2010 in India for the Guinness book of World Records.
