Dr. Stelea did her medical training at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania and obtained her medical degree in 1994. She continued her training with a medical residency in Oncology. Before starting her residency, she worked as a primary care physician in a medical office. She is board certified by American Board of Internal Medicine.
In 2008, Dr. Stelea completed an Internal Medicine residency at North Shore -LIJ Forest Hills Hospital in New York City. During her residency she attended half-day a week in outpatient clinic in Queens Long Island Medical Group where she provided primary care for a large variety of patients with acute and chronic conditions. She provided preventive care and educated patients about healthy life style, including physical activity, diet, and disease prevention.
Dr. Stelea has spent more than 10 years as a hospitalist, providing comprehensive clinical care in an inpatient setting in Long Island. This included physical examination, ordering tests and interpreting results, ordering medications, and coordinating further medical management. She relocated to Connecticut in spring of 2018. Most recently, she served as a hospitalist at the Hospital of Central Connecticut.
Dr. Stelea speaks English and Romanian. She loves spending time with her family and friends and enjoys traveling, biking, and reading.
At Starling, Dr. Stelea provides a full range of primary care services including physicals, sick visits, management of chronic conditions, and routine screenings. She speaks English and Romanian.
