Dr. Diana Ferrante, Internal Medicine, WethersfieldOctober 15, 2019
Diana Stern Ferrante graduated from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. Prior to medical school she completed a master’s degree in economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has lived all over the country, including in California, Idaho, Maine, Maryland, and New York, in addition to Connecticut.
She began her internship at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Boise, Idaho and went on to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Bridgeport Hospital. Her experience with older adults at the VA has instilled in her an appreciation for geriatric medicine. In addition to the full spectrum of internal medicine and primary care, Dr. Ferrante practices osteopathic manipulation and treatment (OMT), which involves applying pressure and/or stretching at precise locations to muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones, and connective tissue (fascia) to relieve tension or pain. While there are many types of OMT, Dr. Ferrante uses primarily myofascial release and trigger point pressure as she has found this to be the most effective in her practice. This technique can be effective for certain types of acute and chronic musculoskeletal (or myofascial) pain, headaches, and repetitive stress injuries. Her combination of traditional and holistic approaches allows her to provide comprehensive and individualized care.
Dr. Ferrante is thrilled to join Starling Physicians and will be taking over patients of Dr. Anne Pinou who recently retired. Dr. Ferrante will see internal medicine patients in Wethersfield starting mid-November. Call now to schedule a visit: (860) 258-3464View all New Providers
