Dr. Christine Najjar grew up in the Hudson Valley region of New York and spent most summers in her parents’ native country, Lebanon. As an undergraduate, she majored in Biochemistry at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She completed medical training at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and Brooklyn, New York. While in medical school, she also received her Masters of Science in Human Nutrition at Columbia University. She completed her Primary Care Internal Medicine residency at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Najjar is passionate about utilizing food as medicine. Since finishing her training, she has worked as a physician at Pounds Transformation, prescribing personalized nutrition plans for the treatment of obesity, type II diabetes, and related chronic conditions, as well as for inflammatory and gut disorders. She has experience implementing low carbohydrate lifestyles, elimination protocols, and fasting regimens.
Dr. Najjar joins our Internal Medicine team in Enfield. She looks forward to incorporating a food first approach in primary care, helping patients maintain a healthy lifestyle, and guiding those in need of weight-loss strategies.
